Preparing to move home

Never put in cartons of flammable, explosive or hazardous materials such as lighters, matches, acids, ammunition, poisons, gas cylinders, cans or other substances partially used and not firmly sealed. Close the bottom of the box with two strips of tape cross, iron a second time if the board must hold heavy objects. Just for closure.

For fragile items:

     * Use bubble wrap (best) or crumpled newspaper or blankets;

Divide the weight in the cards wisely.

Do not place fragile object without protection in a box. Use sheets of bubble wrap.

Fill your boxes completely because they are more resistant. With an empty space, the content may collide.

Small heavy items (books, tins ...) must be stored in small cardboard boxes to move them easily.

Objects larger and lighter are preferably in larger cartons.

The cards are rather large for bulky items like pillows, toys ...

Document retention

Consider making a photocopy of these documents in case of loss.

Video equipment, hi-fi and computer

Use preferably the original packaging, and strengthen them if you deem useful. Gather user manuals, CD ROM ... in the appropriate boxes.

Clothes

Clothes hanging should preferably be placed in boxes suspended (see control board), and you will save time at the ironing and laundry. Pack clothes that you rarely use as soon as possible.

Furniture


Feel free to remove the furniture collapsible: volume gain and diminished risk of damage. It is preferable that the person who dismantles the furniture or the person who goes up the furniture. Gather the loose screws and taping them on a hollow part, do the same with the assembly instructions. Also taped the keys at the bottom of furniture or in the drawers to avoid losing them. The Kitchen

Spices, canned foods: packaging seal properly.

Tables and frames

These must be covered with bubble wrap. Small frames can be inserted into other boxes with other objects. The broad framework must be packed in special cartons. Remember to hang with tape on the framed paintings, screws and nails ...

Lamps and lampshades

Separate the shade of the lamp. Remember to remove the bulb and wrap the electrical cord around the lamp. Fill the box with a large amount of bubble wrap or crumpled newspaper. Rub the lamp also with several layers. If you have multiple lamps, place each head spades. Once all the lamps are arranged in the carton, fill it with bubble wrap or crumpled newspapers. Mention on the board in big "FRAGILE" and "LAMPS". The lampshades are to be stacked two or three per box. Use bubble wrap, but no newspapers as a barrier between each shade. Do not add in cartons for lampshades. As for lights, wholesale mention: "SHADES" and "FRAGILE". The cardboard lamps and lampshades should be placed high in the truck.

Plants

Water your plants enough without overflowing. Surround the pot plant with a plastic bag.
